That right there tells the whole story. The thermostat is set to cool down to 61°F - but the actual air temperature reads 86.4°F. The system is running. The fan is on. And nothing is happening. That's not a refrigerant issue or a compressor failure. That's a thermostat that has completely lost the ability to read and control temperature.

The culprit in this case was a failed temperature sensor inside the thermostat itself. When that sensor goes bad, the thermostat loses its point of reference. It can't accurately measure what the air is actually doing, so it either runs non-stop or shuts off at the wrong time. Either way, you're left sweating in a house that should be cool.

A lot of homeowners assume the worst when their AC won't keep up - they think it's a major repair. Sometimes it is. But sometimes it's the thermostat. It's one of the most overlooked components in the whole system, and when it fails, it can make a perfectly good AC unit look like it's broken.

We swapped out the thermostat, and just like that - the customer's system was cooling properly again. No guesswork, no unnecessary parts. Just an accurate diagnosis and the right fix. That's what separates a real HVAC tech from someone who just replaces things and hopes for the best.

If your home isn't reaching the temperature you've set, don't assume it's something expensive. It might be something as straightforward as the thermostat. Air Benders HVAC LLC handles thermostat installation and replacement, and we'll figure out exactly what's going on before we recommend anything.
